********PRESS RELEASE******** Feb 14 , 2007 Move Over Boys: "The Girls Have Arrived" For The Mexpipe Challenge, Puerto Escondido The buzz is ramping up with the top World Surfers beginning to arrive for the Mexpipe Challenge Surf Carnival to be held this week, Feburary 16th-20th. With the surf forecast looking like it will be somewhere between 6 to 12-foot face sets it's anyone's guess who's going to win the face off between the Women's winning finalist and the Men's winning finalist and a new term has appeared on the white sands of Zicatela Beach; Move Over Boys, "The Girls Have Arrived". The surf event will reunite surfers from more than 17 countries to compete in the women's and men's categories for their respective purses. The champions of each category will also compete in a man-on-woman final for special prizes from many sponsors this year, making it an even larger extravaganza event this weekend Feburary 16-20th. The Mexpipe Challenge has long been known to provide beach lovers and surfing-crazed fans with a source of relief from the winter doldrums. The prestige, pageantry, and popularity of the event brings out the best of the best, and Pro Surfing fans and beach-goers from around the World will be flocking to Puerto Escondido to get the MEXPIPE CHALLENGE SURF CARNIVAL experience which will Bring thousands & thousands of bare-footed, sunglass-wearing, scantily clothed beach-goers to put their feet in the warm waters of Mexico's Pacific Ocean & the white sand between their toes of Puerto Escondido's pristine beaches & Coves of this once sleepy little fishing town. From February 16 to 20, 2007, the area will once again witness the most important surf competition on Mexican soil. Taking place at beautiful Zicatela beach, Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, for the 7th consecutive year, National and international competitors will reunite. On this occasion, two disciplines which are by far the two fastest growing water sports in Mexico will be featured: surfing in the women's and men's categories. The event will be filmed in full OgleVision. Carnival, Concerts, Fashion shows, Bikini contest, and more, "its going to be like a mini Woodstock down here" said Event Director and Owner/Founder of Mexpipe Surf Company, Brandy White. This year, the surfing event and fans will turn into Carnival goers that will enjoy the presence of the famous Amaranta Ruiz (the actress best know for her TV Program "Puro Loco") as our Queen of Carnival. By night the carnival is a celebration full of colors and music, costumes, dance, smiles, and parades; men and women mingle in the streets in a dreamy atmosphere in a representation of happiness without any worries. The concerts this year will be held at night on the beach with reggueton: the music of the generation. The public and fans will encounter the musicians in live performances in intimate circumstances in small jams up and down the famous Mexpipe Beach walk after the concerts well into the early morning hours, its a full on party coming to Puerto Escondio this weekend. There also will be at least two fashion shows, one of high fashion and the other of bikinis at night in a beach atmosphere with beautiful international and national models. The bikini contest will fill your eyes with extreme images and emotions, thanks to the attractive but very dangerous curves of the international and national competitors. Note: Puerto Escondido offers an extraordinary variety of white sand beaches, surf breaks, hidden coves and fresh water lagoons. a traditional Mexican fishing village located 180 miles south of the city of Oaxaca and 70 miles west of Huatulco Bay on the southern Mexico Pacific coast. Puerto is very Un-Cancun and offers a taste of old Mexico with some of the best Mexico beaches and world class surfing.
