Angelo has lived in Puerto Escondido, Mexico since the age of 3, but it wasn't until 9 years of age when he started surfing by the support of his Mother and influence of step Dad Jim, a Texan surfer who moved to Puerto for its quality waves. Angelo began surfing in "La Punta", a left handed point break located 10 minutes from the main beach break (Zicatela).
At 12, he had his first competition Jr in Playa Zicatela and from that point on Angelo knew he wanted to keep competing and follow the steps of the local stars like Raul Noyola, Coco Nogales and Roberto Salinas. At 14 years old Angelo got his first sponsor who was "squalo", same year that he won his first national Jr title.
After finishing high school at 17, Angelo decided to dedicate himself in a professional way to do what he love's doing the most (Surf) and has allow him to travel to many different countries and see many diverse cultures: All while fulfilling his search for that perfect ride while surfing and doing what he loves to do most!
